Rocco Rinaldi-Rose (she/her), LMSW, is a licensed psychotherapist practicing in New York City. Rocco is a trans woman and born New Yorker, Jew(ish), and neurodivergent, with extensive experience and comfort in sex working, kinky, polyamorous, drug using, and Mad communities.

She has worked in queer anti-carceral and justice oriented community support spaces for years, and her early professional work has involved interventions at Rikers Island, street-based harm reduction work, and trans oral history creation, as well as group and individual clinical work with trans youth, adults, and their families at the LGBT Center in Manhattan.

As a therapist, Rocco believes in the power of relationships and speech to change us in ways we cannot easily predict beforehand. Her style is rooted in close attentiveness to the body and its blockages, ruptures, and positions. She seeks to bring gentle awareness to desires unspoken or unthought, in the process fostering creativity, aliveness, and movement. Though pulling from many modalities, she tends to be drawn to a psychoanalytic or psychodynamic approach—meaning an interest in the language of the unconscious: this can take the form of words or somatic fantasies; in early experiences, traumas, and their reverberations; in what cannot or will not be verbalized; in sex, desire, and the erotic; in the intricacies of the clinical and therapeutic relationship dyad.

Rocco maintains a visual, performance, and written art practice, and brings a creative and open stance to the therapeutic field—she is thrilled at the varied intersectional possibilities of creative and psychotherapeutic work and is excited to co-create a unique therapeutic space with each client.
